What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique that deposits pigment into the upper layers of the skin using a hand-held tool with ultra-fine blades. Each stroke mimics a single brow hair, so the result reads as natural texture rather than a drawn-on shape.

It is not a tattoo machine and it is not a powder fill. The strokes are placed individually, following the direction your own hair grows, which is why the finish stays believable up close — the kind of brow people assume you were born with.

At Gisselle Atelier every brow is mapped to your bone structure and the pigment is mixed to your undertone before a single stroke is made. The goal is never a trend. It is to reveal the brow that already suits your face.

Who microblading is for

Microblading solves a specific problem: brows that no longer hold their shape on their own. It is ideal if you:

  • Spend time filling, drawing, or shaping your brows every morning
  • Have sparse, over-plucked, or naturally light brows
  • Want symmetry corrected or a fuller, defined arch
  • Want a low-maintenance result that survives the Miami heat, the gym, and the pool

Microblading is not suitable for everyone. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or managing an active skin condition in the brow area, message us before booking so we can advise on timing — this is about your safety, not a sales call. Message us first.

Your session, step by step

A microblading appointment runs around two hours. Most of that time is spent getting the shape right before any pigment is applied.

  1. 1

    Personalized mapping

Your brow shape is measured and drawn over your bone structure — symmetry tailored to your face, not a one-size template. Nothing begins until you approve the shape.

  2. 2

    Pigment to your undertone

A custom color is mixed to your skin's undertone and your natural hair, so the result heals into a tone that looks like yours — never ashy, never too warm.

  3. 3

    Unhurried application

Topical numbing is applied first and reapplied as needed. Strokes are placed by hand, one at a time, with constant feedback. Most clients describe the sensation as minimal — similar to light scratching.

  4. 4

    Touch-up at 6–8 weeks

A recommended follow-up fine-tunes color and density once the first session has fully healed. It is booked separately and completes the result.

Results, healing & how long it lasts

Microblading typically lasts 12 to 18 months. Longevity varies with your skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure — oilier skin and frequent sun tend to fade faster. A touch-up keeps the color at its best.

Healing is straightforward but matters. During the first week the brows look darker and more intense than the final result — this is completely normal. By day 10 to 14 the color softens to its true healed shade as the surface skin renews.

During healing, keep the area dry: avoid water, direct sun, sweat, and skincare products on the brows until they have settled. Clear aftercare instructions are sent home with you.

Aftercare at a glance

Good healing is half the result. The full guide is given in person, but the essentials are:

  • Keep the brows dry for the first 7–10 days — no pools, saunas, or heavy sweating
  • No direct sun or tanning on the area while healing
  • Do not pick or scratch as the surface flakes — let it shed naturally
  • Pause exfoliants, retinol, and acids around the brow area until healed

Pricing & booking

Microblading starts from $350 and includes your mapping and consultation. First-time clients receive a $50 welcome credit on their first session. The recommended 6–8 week touch-up is booked separately. Full pricing and live availability are on Booksy.

Microblading FAQ

Does microblading hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as minimal — similar to light scratching. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during treatment to keep you comfortable throughout.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading typically lasts 12 to 18 months. Results vary by skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. A touch-up session is recommended to maintain peak color.

What is the healing process like?

During the first week, brows may appear darker and more intense — this is completely normal. By day 10 to 14 the color softens to its healed shade. Avoid water, direct sun, and skincare products on the area during healing.

Is it safe?

Yes. Gisselle is a licensed professional with 12 years of experience. All blades and tools are single-use and sterile, and the private suite is sanitized between every appointment.

How is microblading different from a powder brow?

Microblading uses individual hair-like strokes for a natural, textured look. Powder (ombré) brows create a soft, filled-in shading. During your consultation we recommend the technique that suits your skin type and the look you want.
